Day 1 of filming

Our location for our first day of filming was within the school grounds and campus.  In our group Jasmine was filming, Celina was director and Chandler was in charge of vlogging our filming process. At first they took a scene with Marcus, one of the main protagonists for our film trailer. This was an over the shoulder shot where he was to look at the mirror and was preparing to. The mirror and his clothing including his coat and scarf helps with the mise-en-scene, showing his status and the type of life he has which is money and power.

I was part of the actors needed for the next scene which was the walking scene of Gangsters. In this particular scene we had to co-ordinate ourselves on where we were to stand at first and how we approach the camera for Marcus. We had to walk in a V formation which made Marcus be in the centre and this establishes in this scene who was leader of the men. Before heading out, we practiced with the rest of the actors in the V formation, making sure that everyone was in time and took the same steps each time moving forward. Instead of just all the actors walking, we wanted to try and establish that the actors had different attitudes and type of character. For me, I was pulling my hair back in order to help establish what kind of character I was. For the ending shot, it would be a close up of Marcus' face staring at the camera. There were a few mistakes that happened while trying to do this but we able to get it done. Since they had filmed it for a front view of the actors, we also did a back view of the actors to see and compare the different views.

For the next scene, where I was being interrogated by the brother of our female protagonist.  However in the few shots they took, you could not see who was interrogating me from the angle it was taken at. However we were able to get my facial expression with me looking terrified and confused. The location for this was very small and was location that would seem deserted which gangsters would most likely to have meetings in.

The type of shots that we used for Day 1 filming were long shots, close up and group shots.
